Bring on the holidays!!!

It's official, the temperatures have dropped, the coughing and sniffs are coming on, and vacations are beginning. So to beat the cold weather, Brad and I decided to go to St George for Thanksgiving to spend some time in the sun and hang out with family. This was not the case.....while it is warmer than happy valley, it is still frigid down here for being St. George. Big bummer!!! the high is 55 when it is suppose to be 72 according to the weather man. Oh well what can you do. On our way down here, we stopped in Cedar City to see my aunt, cousin, and her sweet baby girl. In the past week, I have seen and held quite a few babies and in the past couple of months, I have started to get baby hungary. This little baby (my cousin's) was so darn cute that I just wanted one really bad. Well gonna have to wait for about 1 more year until we are able to start that whole 'expanding the family thing!' Well, I hope everyone has a wonderful thanksgiving dinner and enjoys shopping on black friday (for all of those who are as crazy as me and love joining the crowds at 5am in the morning--by the way stores are opening at 4am now, how much crazier can it get....I can't get up much earlier than 5am--even that is pushing it- I enjoy sleep way too much)

Saw this cartoon and it made me chuckle a little bit, somewhat inappropriate but still made me smile--thought some of you might enjoy too

Our busy Summer

Well, it all started Memorial Day weekend, when we were suppose to move into our new house, however construction always seems to run behind and that's when we decided to take a road trip to Oregon where we went camping and registered our car (yes it is legal because Brad is a FT student). That was a very quick weekend, but upon our return we got to move into our new place (which I LOVE compared to living in a basement 1-bedroom apartment)...then two weeks later we visited Brad's dad in St. George for Father's Day. I got to relax while Brad went fishing. Our journey continued to AZ, where we helped some friends move down to law school in Phoenix. Very hot and yes another quick weekend trip. Then onto Montana for a family reunion, where we went for a 4 hour river rafting trip. Quite fun but your arms get pretty tired after rowing for that long. I got a nice sunburn as my souvenior from the trip. I think I'm going to get skin cancer in my lifetime, I burn all the time. And apparently I think I'm invicible to the sun's rays because I always forget to put on sunblock. Well, then our car to us back to Oregon again so that I could renew by license but most importantly so that I could run in the Hood to Coast Relay with Brad's family. It was so fun but very exhausting since we drove through the night to get there and then stayed up the whole next night so that I could run, just to turn around and drive home (to UT--that's a 13 hour drive) the next day. We decided to have one last summer hurrah before Brad started school again, which led us to a night's stay at a cabin at Strwberry Lake with some friends. It was a blast but hard to return from since that's when our lives had to face the reality of school and the coming winter. I realize this is all old news but since we don't have any kids that give us funny stories to tell or make our lives more interesting, I have to reflect on the past. I hope you all enjoyed your summers as we did. Hope the Fall gives us more adventures.

Just awaitin'

Brad's cousin got married at the end of September so Brad's whole family was together at the Salt Lake Temple. It was fun to see everyone and it was a beautiful wedding, very cute colors and decorations. Congrats to Mike and Andrea for gettin' hitched! Anyhoo..... this is a pic of Brad and I as we are waiting for the happy couple to come out of the temple. P.S. Just tried to upload another picture (one of the newly married) and it wasn't working--I'm so computer illiterate, it's not even funny. Well, maybe when I get some further training on being a blogger, I will be able to upload 2 pics at once, it will be a big event for me! Stay tuned to view the magnificent occasion.

Working out the kinks

So I'm just trying this whole blogging thing out for the first time--apparently eveyone who's anyone does this whole blogging thing, so I thought I would join the mass. This is older picture from our collection of photos. I was tring to upload a certain picture onto our profile so I thought I would try this one on the regular postings to see if it had anything to do with the picture. Well apparently this one works on the regular posting so I'll try the other picture and if all goes well then that will be the next picture above this one.
