Broadway, here I come...

So I haven't blogged in while because I have been preparing to make my Broadway debut. Be EXCITED FOR ME!! Okay so really Broadway is coming to me and it's a debut in the way that it's my first Broadway show even though it is a traveling show. Our old next door neighbors found out that tickets to Wicked were going on sale last Friday. And Adam, being the nice guy that he is, went up to stand in line by leaving at 5:45am or around there. Upon getting to the Capitol Theatre at 7am when the tickets were suppose to go on sale, he ran into about 2,000 people that apparently snatched up all the tickets so he quickly darted home and got on the phone and made about 300 calls and finally got through. WE GOT TICKETS!! YEAH!! I'm so excited to see it, I have heard great things about it. The show doesn't come until May but I better get to listening to the soundtrack so that I can sing along when I go:)

Double the Support

Okay so here's a little inside to some of my stupidity. On good old Monday morning, I was groggy getting up and had to get dressed for work. As I was thinking about what to wear, I was in the process of putting on the first bra that I saw, which happen to be pink. Then I saw a white shirt, (I know to some of you think 'big surprise that I was interested in wearing one of the many white pieces of clothing I own') and thought I need to wear y white bra if I'm going to wear this white shirt. After searching for a little bit I finally found a white bra to put on so I put it on and finished getting dressed. I then got to work and changed into scrubs and when I proceeded to go downstairs to work I thought to myself, my bra is really tight. As I reached back to see if I had put my bra on the tightest "setting" (or whatever you would call it, hook??) I felt not one bra but two!!! Whoops a daisy! Guess I must have been a little too tired to realize that as I was putting on my white bra, I already had another one on that I forgot to remove before doing so. Welp, I hope this brings you all a little smile after reading this story, I know I smile every time I think of this stupid moment.

Staff Meeting

So I went to work this morning being the good employee that I am. Get to the office and get my op all ready for my first patient of the day and then I attend early morning huddle, which consists of the doctors reviewing the schedule and what patients are coming in and what procedures are being done, while all the hygienists are busy looking at all their charts and what their patients need. Well, everyone knew that there was a staff meeting scheduled during lunch today that MANDATORY so while we are all busy looking through charts the doctors mention that all the patients in the afternoon are fake or at least their appointments are.... Dust my ears, I said to myself--are the doctors being serious--Did I hear that right. We don't have to work after 1 o'clock today--we sure enough didn't. Our MANDATORY staff meeting is to go to lunch and then attend a movie (which by the way was Eagle Eye, hence the picture)--all the while being paid to be present. That's right--our staff meeting was basically paid relaxation. How awesome is that. I've have to say very awesome. I work for some fabulous doctors. Kudos docs!! This was technically my first staff meeting at my new office and I have to say that the rest of the real staff meetings are probably going to suck from here on out compared to this one. I think real business might need to be discussed at those ones, bummer, huh!!? But today was a day of enjoyment and I loved it. P.S. My coworkers are hilarious especially "Jelly Cuff"--who cracks me up every day that she works. And another thing, after watching Eagle Eye, I think I need to return my new cell phone and never be on my computer again. So if you don't hear from me in a little while, you now know why......

Candidate for Graduation

Brad went through the graduation ceremonies for BYU in August. He officially graduates in December hence the candidate for graduation. BYU only has graduation ceremonies in April and August and when a poll was taken among his classmates, most decided that they would graduate in August before they officially done with classes instead of coming back to graduate in April. Sorry, that was kind of a lengthy explanation for the meaning behind the title. His mom, two sisters, and older brother plus family were nice enough to come down for the occasion. Here are some more captivating memories of the wonderful day--sure do wish he was really graduated though! :)

Me and the Grad
So apparently none of the other pictures will upload through blogger so here they are via another slideshow. Sorry for the repetition of the slideshow format--apparently it's the only thing that works for me!

Stay tuned for more updates on our fun-filled August! I know you are excited--I'll have more postings in the month of September than the rest of the months on my blog combined. I'm amazing!

Camping in Utah's Outback

Hopefully this is one of many post since August was crazy for us. Starting the month off, Brad and Adam took a little hiking trip into the wild to camp for a few days. They headed up into the Unitas not to be heard from for a few days. Many people asked me where they went. Being the caring wife that I am, I said somewhere in the Unitas, who knows. If there was a problem with them not returning on time I knew Brad had some maps of the area of where they were at on their computer so there wasn't a huge worry. Anyway, their planning for this hike started way back in January. Needless to say they were very excited for this trip. The purchasing of many hiking items began as well as talking about where they were going to go, downloading of ariel maps, and then came the test run to make sure they could hike with all the weight of their packs. Well the highlight of their trip to me anyway was that they made it home in one piece and lived to tell about and take pictures. SO here a few of the shots they took while enjoying the great outdoors!

American Traditions

Everyone loves a parade except for my husband. So on the fourth of July, I usually go with my brother and his family to the Provo Freedom Festival Parade and that's what I did again this year. We start by getting breakfast at Gandolfos and then trek it over to watch the parade. This year was fabulous because even though it was suppose to be 101 degrees, the sky was overcast during the parade. It was perfect. After the parade we went to Heather's parent's house for a BBQ--they are my adopted parents, Brad and I always eat at their house for Sunday dinners. So after eating the traditional burgers and hot dogs, I went back and relaxed at my house for a few hours and then went back up to Provo to watch the fireworks from the the Stadium of Fire. I love fireworks. I love this holiday. And I love this country. It's the best!! Enjoy the pictures! (P.S. Sorry this post is so delayed)

Lavender Days

My mom was in town this last weekend, which is always loads of fun. On Friday, I had the day off so my mom, sister-in-law, and her three kids went to Lavender Days down in Mona, UT. Ohhh, and guess who forgot to bring the camera!! This seems to be the reason for why my blog isn't that interesting, no cool pictures. By the way, this state has tons of cities that celebrate the most random things, i.e. summer days, onion days, strawberry days, swiss day, fiesta days, etc, which is great because each "festival" has lots of things to do. Anyway, we decided to go check this one out. We got there in the middle of the afternoon--the hottest part of the day by far, always a smart idea. Started off with the kids riding the sad, hot little ponies. Poor little guys just go around and around in circles with kids just getting on and off their backs all day long. Oh what a life. After that, we went to the "fairy tea party" where the kids danced around with grown-ups dressed like fairies and then had lemonade and really good frosted sugar cookies. Then on to the little vendors booths to buy some fun crafty things, later I tossed some rings around to win a huge bottle of some energy/health drink. Haven't tasted it yet so we'll have to see if it is even good or not. I then watched some hot shot gun slinger guy twirl some guns in his hands. Impressive but kind of boring after a half an hour. We wanted to go on the paddle boats which I was looking forward too but the stupid line was forever long and with three kids 4 and under, we weren't about to stand in the line with it being as hot as it as. At that point we had enough, plus we were hungry so we headed pack up to Provo. Anyhoo....that was one of the exciting things I did this past weekend. For all of you who check my blog every day and have told me I need to update it, I hope this satisfies your request for now. I will try to remember the camera over the 4th of July so that I can take some pictures and post something that is more exciting than just words and a downloaded picture. By the way, I tried to make my own pictures in paintbook but with the mac it wasn't working as well as the PC program so I gave up. I tried to be more exciting but like always, it tanked. Sorry!

Utah's Disneyland for Women

So I experienced Gardner's Village on Saturday with my mom and I LOVED it!! It is my new favorite place--the only downfall is that it isn't close to my house, it's a little bit of a drive from the boondocks of Spanish Fork. I hear they have a wonderful sale over Memorial day weekend and I have every intention of going. I'm am so excited. I purchased a beautiful white antiqued quilt for my bed and then some wall hanging thing-a-ma-bobs for the kitchen. I so wish I had more money to spend there. Anyway I was in heaven and since nothing else really goes on in my life, I thought I would blog about this fabulous day I spent shopping. It is my personal disneyland and considering I have never been to the real place I can't really compare anything to it but this seems like what I would have experienced had I gone to disneyland as a child.

Yet another tag...

I know you are all so thrilled to learn more about me. Try to contain your joy as I complete yet another tag.
7 Facts About Myself
The Rules
1. Link your tagger and list these rules on your blog
2. List 7 facts about yourself on your blog, some random, some weird
3. Tag 7 people at the end of your post by leaving their names as well as links to their blogs.
4. Let them know they are tagged by leaving a comment on their blog.

The 7 facts about myself:

1. Before I die, I want to milk a real cow--weird goal but I have always want to do it. The rules did say they could be weird facts.

2. I also want to go to New Zealand and Australia some day. Not really looking forward to the 20-some odd hour flight to get there but I still want to go.

3. I LOVE tennis....I'm not good at it but I love it--playing or watching. Funny thing is that when I watch the pros, they make it look so easy that I think I can go outside and play just like them, then when I get on the court it's a whole other story. Dang those professionals. Also I love Andy Roddick, unfortunately he became engaged this past month which makes him a little less desirable but who are we kidding, they'll never make it to the alter--they're famous, it will never work out. In time, he'll come come to his senses and come back to me.

4. I think DVR is one of the best inventions ever. Considering the fact that I love to watch TV, I now don't have to miss a thing. I can tape it all and I love the rewind button however I do try to "rewind" other things in life now, which as you may know, doesn't work like that in reality. I have tried but failed in rewinding the radio, talks given in church, funny jokes, conversations, etc.

5. There are times/days, usually when I'm on my way to work, that I wish I had the resources as a celebrity...the money, the hair, make-up, and fashion stylists. I also wouldn't mind looking like some of the celebrities. I could definitely handle looking like Kate Beckinsale, Brittany Snow, Carrie Underwood, or Faith Hill.

6. I have never been to Disneyland--I feel a little left out when people talk about the fun rides they went on there--I have never had the opportunity to enjoy those dang teacups!

7. I love to laugh. The one person I can always rely on to make me smile is my brother, Jeff--sure do wish he lived closer to me--his son, Jackson is coming in at a close second though. He's 4 and he says some of the most hilarious things. I love my fam.

I now tag: well anyone who wants to participate but specifically Kara, Ciara, Ashlee, and Katie--enjoy and please be funny, I need a good laugh right about now. I realize this isn't 7 people specifically but deal w/ it.

Yeah for the Sun!

It is finally sunny and somewhat warm today and I love it!!! Tomorrow is suppose to be 80 degrees and I couldn't be happier. Another perk of this last week is that there were no more re-runs of The Office--quite possibly one of best TV shows out there right now. Thank goodness the writer's strike is over!! I am a happy person!

Problem still not solved

Still missing the equipment that allows us to download our photos from our camera to our computer so in the mean time, here are some photos from the library (thanks to Kim for the idea). Hope you can enjoy at least some pictures. Also for the New Year Brad is really into making new year's resolutions so he decided to swear of everything good I think for the year--that means no cookies, cakes, pies, doughnuts, chips, french fries (except red robin fries), and many other good things. He insisted I make a new years resolution which I hate doing because if I want to make a goal, I don't feel the need for the new year to roll around to make one.....so he said that I should try to make it to church on time every week for a year---there's one mess-up weekend. So church is at 11 and you think I would be able to make it on time but NO, first week of the year, yep, I was late (by the way this was before we made the "goal"). Anyway since the goal was made, I have done very well, thank you very much. Well our prize for doing these goals for the whole year and more so of a graduation present for Brad is to go on a cruise next April or so w/ our good ol' neighbors, Adam & Cory. So I also made the goal to look like I did when we went on our first cruise, so now I am hitting the gym more (also to prep for the Hood to Coast Relay Race again this August). My goal is to look like this--skinny and tan: (sorry about the immodesty--you have to wear a bikini on your honeymoon, it's all part of the fun)

So that's the goal.....
Well here is another photo of honeymooning couple in front of Chitzen Itza. Mexico.

Here's a picture of Brad climbing down that pyramid, crapping his pants since he is afraid of heights and the stairs are very steep...He will appreciate that I shared this on the blog. :)

About 1 1/2 ago, we went camping w/ Craig and Sara on Mt Timp and this was on our hike. Utah sure does have some great views.

In August of 2006, Brad and I ventured to Washington DC to visit my brother and his family....Brad is showing his appreciation for the IRS--he originally wanted to pretend he was peeing on the sign but I said that I wouldn't take the picture if he did so he just frowned

And then there's me in my modeling debut....

alright I think that is enough pictures to bore you with...stay tuned as always for some more blasts from the past.

Thursday, January 3, 2008

As excited as I am when someone posts new news, I feel that I have let a lot of you down by not updating my own blog. The USB cord that we use to download our pictures from the camera to the computer has been temporarily misplaced. Therefore pictures and updates of the holiday season of us are on the way so stay tuned!!!
